Detroit (GPA) – As we round out 2018, Geopolitics Alert would like to take a moment to thank all of our readers for sticking with us for yet another year. We wouldn’t be here without you all. We’ve put together a list of your favorite five articles from 2018. Thanks for two great years and many more to come.
These are our five best-performing articles of 2018. This list includes some old favorites that surged back into popularity thanks to current events.
1. A History of John McCain’s Calls for War
With almost 20k views in 2018, this favorite dwarfed our other articles in popularity. From Afghanistan and Ukraine to Syria and Iran, John McCain never saw a war he didn’t like. Thanks for dying, John McCain, the world is certainly a better place without you!
2. Syria Strikes Back: Damascus Fires on Israeli Forces in Golan
Rounding out second place we have an article about Syria striking back against Israeli occupying forces in the Golan Heights. The attack came after Israeli forces launched an illegal strike on what it claimed were “Iranian facilities” inside Syrian territory.
Next up on the list, we have another old favorite from 2017. This article goes over that time the United States lost a simulated war against Iran that they created themselves. Even in their own virtual reality, Washington’s imperialism is no match for the IRGC.
4. Yemen Reveals Badr 1 Ballistic Missile System for Defense [PHOTOS/VIDEO]
Coming in at number four we have an exciting article with plenty of media detailing Yemen’s domestically produced Badr 1 short-range missile system. Not only was this an awesome development for Yemen defending against US-Saudi aggression, but it also earned us our first Wikipedia reference at Geopolitics Alert. Cheers!
5. Is the US Itching for a New War in the Horn of Africa?
Finally, we have an article about Washington’s expansive presence in the Horn of Africa. The United States tries to keep a tight lid on its imperialism in Africa but it’s possible 2019 could see new battlegrounds emerge into the light.
From all of us here at Geopolitics Alert, thanks for reading in 2018. Here’s to a 2019 fighting imperialism together. Happy New Year!
