Sana’a (GPA) – Thousands of Yemenis filled the streets in the capital city of Sana’a on Friday to protest Saudi-US airstrikes and invasion.
After over two years of relentless airstrikes, Yemenis took to the streets today in protest. The demonstration coincided with Trump visiting the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss military coordination and support. Yemenis hope to spread awareness about the violent US-Saudi alliance’s contribution to terrorism in Yemen and the entire region.
A total of 30,000 Yemeni civilians have been killed and wounded by the barbaric US-backed Saudi airstrikes since March of 2015. Saudi Arabia has imposed an air blockade on the Sana’a airport so Yemenis must completely rely on port cities like Hodeida and Mokha to import basic goods like food and medical supplies. 80 percent of Yemen’s food is imported.
