Aleppo (AMN) – Three-year-old Omran Daqneesh moved the world and became a symbol of war-torn Aleppo after footage of him alone in the back of an ambulance during bombing last August was widely circulated by the media.
A year later, the youngster has recovered and regained his health, and was captured playing with his siblings and sitting on the knee of his father, Mohammad Kheir Daqneesh, who gave an interview from their family home in Aleppo, Monday.
The video of Omran, sat in the back of an ambulance covered in dust and blood, garnered international attention. His older brother, Ali, died from injuries sustained in the attack.
The family is now living in government-controlled Aleppo. An interview conducted by Ruptly with Omran’s family is to be released shortly.
